The Long-Tail Magic Of My Volkswagen Jetta
I snapped this picture during my recent vaction. I’ve had a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta for three years now. It’s the TDI model that takes diesel fuel. I bought it to be a bit more green (there’s no such thing as truly doing so and driving a car) and save a little bit of money on gas in the long run.
And so, here’s some proof. After 50,000 miles, I’m still able to get over 500 miles out of a 16-gallon tank.
I reset my trip meter every time I fill up. It shows I’ve driven 539.2 miles. The 15 miles indicates how many more I can drive before I’m empty. So that’s around 555 miles on a single tank of gas. In a three-year-old car with 50,000 miles on it.
Thanks Volkswagen, and my sales guy Joe Thompson, for putting me in a Jetta. I still love the car and it drives like the day I took it off the lot.
